A Family Festival Weekend Near Malvern (Even If You Don’t Ride Bikes)

Family Days Out3 min readMalverns Classic 2027

Mention the Malverns Classic and most people picture muddy mountain bikers flying downhill. That’s part of it, but it’s only half the story. For a lot of families, it’s simply the best value festival weekend in the area.

It’s a festival first

Think of it as a family festival that happens to have bikes in it. Over four days at Eastnor Deer Park you’ll find live bands, DJs, street food, a licensed bar, party games and a relaxed, friendly crowd. There’s no pressure to ride, race or know anything about bikes.

Camping without the hassle

Your weekend ticket includes camping from Thursday to Sunday, so there’s no separate pitch fee to worry about. The site has free showers, toilets and drinking water, and if tents aren’t your thing, glamping is available. Electric pitches are a good shout if you’re bringing a campervan or need to keep phones charged.

Something for every age

Little ones

Cheer on the Balance Bike World Championships, where kids not much bigger than their bikes race their hearts out.

Older kids

Soak up the atmosphere, the music and a trade show full of kit and freebies.

Grown ups

A drink, live music and a proper catch up while the kids burn off energy in open parkland.

Watching is half the fun

Even if you’ve never sat on a mountain bike, the racing is exciting to watch. The dual slalom and 4X national championships see riders go head to head on the same course, so it’s easy to follow and genuinely gripping.

And when the courses aren’t being used for racing or practice, they’re open for everyone, so if the kids do fancy a ride, bring their bikes along.

Plan ahead

Everyone on site needs a valid festival ticket, and last year sold out.
