Things to Do This August Bank Holiday Weekend in Herefordshire and Worcestershire

Family Days Out4 min readMalverns Classic 2027

The August bank holiday is the last big weekend of the summer holidays, and finding something the whole family will enjoy can be harder than it sounds. If you live around Ledbury, Malvern, Hereford, Worcester or Gloucester, one of the biggest events of the summer is right on your doorstep.

The Malverns Classic Festival takes over Eastnor Deer Park near Ledbury from Thursday 26th to Sunday 29th August 2027. It is best known as the UK’s biggest mountain bike festival, but you really don’t need to own a bike, or even like bikes, to have a brilliant weekend here.

What’s on for families

Around 10,000 people come through the gates each day, and plenty of them are families who just fancy a big day out in a beautiful setting.

Live music

DJs, live bands and party games every evening, with Leeroy Thornhill of The Prodigy on Saturday night.

Food and drink

Street food caterers and a licensed bar, so there’s no need to pack a picnic.

The Expo

The UK’s largest bike trade show, with 130+ stands to wander round.

Racing to watch

From national championships to the Balance Bike World Championships for the little ones.

Dogs are welcome too, so the whole family can come along, four legged members included.

Why Eastnor Deer Park?

The setting alone is worth the trip. Rolling parkland under the Malvern Hills, open space for the kids to run around, and views that make a long weekend feel like a proper holiday without the motorway queues.

Make a weekend of it

Weekend tickets include camping from Thursday to Sunday, with free showers, toilets and drinking water on site. Glamping and electric pitches are available too if you’d rather not rough it.
