🏁 Balance Bikes – The stars of tomorrow on track today!

The Cube Bikes Balance Bike World Championships at the Malverns Classic is the ultimate racing showdown for our youngest riders. Open to toddlers aged 2 to 5  on balance bikes, this exciting three day competition is all about fun, confidence and first tastes of podium glory.

With a purpose designed course for little legs and big smiles, riders can race one day, two days or all three days if they want to be in with the chance of the World Championship title. All cheered on by family, friends and a buzzing festival crowd.

🚵‍♂️ Mountain Bike Trail Grade:

🟢 Green (Easy)

For: Balance Bike Riders

  • Wide, mostly flat and smooth trails

  • Gentle descents

  • Minimal obstacles

  • Bikes must be a balance bike

  • Bikes with pedals and cranks removed are not allowed
  • Skills Required: Basic bike control and ability to ride for short distances

💷 Entry Fee

  • £15.00 per racer payable in advance online
  • Entries are limited, so book early to secure your child’s race entry
  • Note: There are no on the day entries

All riders must complete the online waiver, whether you’re racing or just riding for fun.

You do not need to be a British Cycling member or hold a race licence to compete.

📍 Course Locations

Friday – Quad Eliminator – Dirt Jump Area in the Main Arena

Saturday – Slalom – Dirt Jump Area in the Main Arena

Sunday – Downhill – Dirt Jump Area in the Main Arena

🚫 No uplift will be provided or permitted. Riders must walk or ride back to the start line, which is a short 2-3 minute return.

🏆 The Balance Bike World Championship – Points & Prizes

Across three action-packed races, riders will earn points based on their finishing positions. The rider with the highest total points in each category will be crowned the The Balance Bike World Champion during a special podium ceremony on the main stage on Sunday.

🎯 Points Breakdown (Per Race – Top 10 Finishers):
1st – 100 points
2nd – 90 points
3rd – 80 points
4th – 70 points
5th – 60 points
6th – 50 points
7th – 40 points
8th – 30 points
9th – 20 points
10th – 10 points

  • All race entries must be completed online in advance.


📍 Race Registration Location

  • Located in Race HQ in the main arena

  • Bring valid I.D. – Accepted forms:

    • Passport – Can be a picture on your phone

    • Birth Certificate – Can be a picture on your phone

⚠️ No I.D. = No Racing


⏱️ Sign-In Process

Even if you’ve entered online, you must sign in at Race HQ to collect your race materials:

  • Your number board

  • Cable ties to attach it to the front of your bike

Number boards must be attached before the start of practice.

If you miss Sign In during the scheduled times (listed above), you will not be allowed to practice or race.

📆 Categories

Based on the rider’s age on the day of the race. If they are entering multiple races and they are a year older for the last race then they must race up in that age group.

e.g If they are three years of age on either the Friday or Saturday and are racing all days but turn four years of age on the Saturday or Sunday then they must enter all races in the four year old category.

Note this is also the running order for the races:

  • 2 Year old girls
  • 3 Year old girls
  • 4 Year old girls
  • 5 Year old girls

RULES

🔧 Equipment Requirements

Your bicycle must be mechanically sound and capable of completing the course safely and efficiently. As a minimum:

  • The bike must be in good working order

  • Bar plugs are compulsory to prevent injury

  • All efforts must be made to ensure your safety and the safety of others


Helmets are compulsory for all riders at all times while on course.

We recommend wearing a full-face helmet for maximum protection.

    • Open-face helmets are permitted, but use is at the discretion of the legal guardian of the rider.

  • Helmets must:

    • Comply with recognised safety standards (as outlined in General Regulations)

    • Be properly secured

    • Detachable mouthpieces are allowed, but must be securely attached according to the manufacturer’s instructions


🎥 Cameras and Course Practice

  • POV cameras are permitted during practice only and must be securely mounted to your bike (not helmet or body)

  • Each rider must complete at least two full runs of the course during practice
